Hnouring God while i'm serving in the Army is a challenge. I wake up early everyday just to make time to study the Word. I thank God for placing a buddy that also hungers for the Word everyday, haha someone who actually wakes me up at 0445 to wash up and head back to our bunk to do our QT=)

I started reading My Utmost for His Highest at the start of OCS training, and it's really convenient due to the length of each daily entry, and since time doesn't allow for a long read, it's really appropriate.

9 weeks into Service Term, 5 more weeks to Professional Term.
I hope and pray that i'll persevere for the remaining 7 months.

wow like we had the time to study..but it was all application and map orientation so that portion wasn't that difficult..just tedious

AND i'm still studying some operations order thingy now..the program is starting to spread out..when we're in camp it's really slack (study study)..but when we're outfield it's near hellish (sometimes). All in all, the amount of free time has dramatically increased=) i even had time to drink some gatorade GOODNESS

It's been a really tiring 10 days at field camp..I was so shagged out at some points that I could barely stand..but thank God it's over!

Hung out with Abel on Friday evening at Chomp Chomp, good to catch up with him after so long=)
Went back to NY on Friday afternoon with PC..OLYMPIC MADNESS..the teachers and students were gathered near every tv screen, got to meet up with Mrs Wang and saw some friends. LILY PLEASE TAKE CARE OF MY G.C.!=)

Haha, I met Clement on Friday night after supper with Abel. Got the board back (you know the one alvan made for everyone in GG?). I left it in Clement's house since BMT, but now I finally got it back! Gonna hang it up at home=)

I spent time with my family, had dinner with them on Friday and just now, I'm glad to catch up with them too, and tell them how crazy training was haha

Had a farewell lunch with my BAY class today. Abby and Qian Hui will be leaving for their studies in a week, both will be headed to the States.

Hmm i'm rather disappointed about last Friday's book out..we booked out 5 hours later than expected and I missed GG's outing to Cathay.
I went for the BAY outing to Sentosa yesterday which was pretty fun, a good time to unwind from the stressful week. I met Isabel from SERVE and Gloria from NY, they were there for the NUS Orientation. Had a chance to catch up with Siang Ee and Melvrick on my way home, you two better press on in your studies yeah?

Night Cycling- 17th June 2008
the night cycling was meant to be for the platoon, but turned out only Josh, Jerick and I came (3 Js) haha. 2 of Josh's Church friends also came.
The route was REALLY long, according to Google Maps it's 71km long, so I trust their measurements. Took us at least 7 hours to complete.
I had to borrow Jerick's bike, so I waited for him to get home at 12plus befre going over to his place to grab the bikes. By then, Josh was already aiting at Chomp Chomp, haha sorry man=)
So technically, we started cycling at 1230am, then cycled over to Serangoon Central. First we went over to Jerick's Church friend's place to grab some books.

my platoon-that a few of us could form a morning prayer group..my goodness we wake up at 430am everyday! but God has given us the strength to carry on=)

my sergeants-though they are firm with us, they are very fair. and i'm only referring to my platoon. cos the other platoons in my company are SUFFERING under their sergeants.

AND ALSO-i get to meet friends now and then, like Julius whom i talk to at the common corridor between our companies, BROTHER.

for today- that my officer allowed me to book out due to an interview.

sunday-swam for 2 hours IN THE RAIN! stoned at the poolside steps for 15 mins because the life guard deemed it unsafe to swim. and met bert for fellowship at thomson prata at night

monday-TODAY. was supposed to donate blood with alvan, noelle, sus and nicholas(alvan's cell leader). BUT BUT the blood bank is closed on MONDAYS! whoa wasted our trip. but had breakfast at outram market then went to SKS!! sus send me pics!
prawned with abel in the afternoon..woohoo! first time prawning and i caught 9 prawns. i thought i caught 11, but anyway haha. the prawns were HUGE.

I guess it's really amazing how God speaks to us in various ways. He spoke to Mei Ping, and revealed to her a portion of my life that was in need of prayer.

These 3 months have taught me alot. I have come to understand that there are always needs in various ministries, and no single person can fulfill all these needs alone. Yet, to direct our focus away from fulfilling the needs of others and to turn our eyes upon Him. He will direct our paths and lead us to where we can serve Him to our fullest.

THANKSGIVING

I haven't blogged in ages. Alot has been happening in my life that I really want to praise God for=)

Firstly, for allowing me to enlist in April, because this has allowed me to participate in SERVE '08=)

Secondly, for my results. AABCD may not be impressive to many, but it was really something I didn't deserve, thank God=)

Thirdly, for the people I got to know during these 3 months in SERVE. The peeps from GG! Love you guys. And also the many others from the other 2 groups, you guys have been a blessing in my life.

Forthly, for the opportunity to serve at SACH, it's amazing how all this just fell into place.

Fifth, for YFC=) you guys have been a continued blessing to non-believers=) do keep up the good work in Him.

I've been attending Project Timothy these two days, and it really challenged my whole view on Faith and Prayer..

The talk was on Ecclesiastes..well the speaker finished the entire book in 2 days which was really incredible=)

On the first day Timo, Hui Ping and I were discussing a question which we adressed to the speaker at one point. Hui Ping is a teacher at NYJC haha..I knew her but yet I didn't count on seeing her at Project Timothy..STUDYING alongside a GP lecturer=)

The question was regarding the verse below (and above):

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. " Ecclesiastes 3:11

we say with confidence that God has "set eternity in the hearts of men" and that we're unable to comprehend what Her has done for us from "beginning to end"..yet in saying so we are acknowledging that God knows what is going to happen in the future, that everything has been set in stone. In a sense that is true, that God knows the future and what would happen, with a certain implication of predetermined events.
Question: Is this a description of fatalism? And if God knows what is going to happen and if everything has been planned out, is there still a need for prayer? after all, what's gonna happen is gonna happen whether we pray..

WE STILL NEED TO PRAY. No doubt everything has been planned, but we pray that our DEPENDENCE upon Him is expressed. Prayer, whether corporate or personal, will help to unleash His plans and purposes for this world.
What about fatalism? is there anything fatalistic about our lives? NO, God is in control of His time, in His time. Nothing is fatal.

BAY CAMP OH-SEVEN!=)

alright..this is my latest post in like AGES.......-_-"
anyway..i missed the first 2 days of BAY camp because of prom and class bbq so...
TROLLY HOCKEY! this happened on the first day i think...playingbendy on trolleys..had a hard time returning the trolleys after the camp..haha..
THE WALK! the camp theme was "walk"..so we did..literally..6km hike through mac ritchie..then had to carry jesslyn's bag for her..goodness..haha..but i survived!

been AGES since i last blogged!=)
just came back from SYFC Junior College leadership camp..it was a BLAST=)
my group..still waiting for photos haha..the dudes daryl, bryan, yi xuan, eehan(leader), timothy, jethro and chien chong(SYFC regional director)..
so whenever we had a game bryan would be like "WIN ALREADY AH!" haha..our rationale would be that we have the commando and director on our side..
orienteering was superb..the planning was a legend..we cut our times at stations by taking pics of the clues and also running! woohoo..miss the feeling of running..but the team stuck together..ok now i'm just waiting for the pics..

just watched the trailer for "I Am Legend"..Amanda was telling me about it..the show's really legend..title's also legend...it's really legend..gonna get some guys to watch it..

some legend things happened today..
I was stretching in Bishan Park today..and I saw Theodore! and another girl from NY..super legend..so we ran across the park and I broke off from them to run to NY...then saw Mrs Lim at NY..she declined to shake my hand! saying I was all perspiring..haha..oh well..
then I left school and waited for the bus..saw mr lee driving pass..he waved to me..it's like the second time i saw him this week ouside school..the last time was on tuesday..then i went to Bishan and looked for my Chinese tutor=) missed her..haha..she gave me a drink and asked if i wanted lunch..very nice of her..but i had to go back.so i just sat and chatted with her about stuff..

the last few days have been surprisingly packed..after the paper on tuesday..my class went to Sentosa..celebrated Tricia's birthday and mine..haha..super belated but THANKS GUYS! it rained down on us..made me think of the song by Delirious?..but not that the rest would know...played soccer and frisbee..plus some beach volleyball..super unprofessional haha..but it's all in the name of fun..gonna post the pictures next...

on wed i had Bible study with Abel, Carmen and Mr Mao=) brethren..i didn't think that when i went into NY, that i would one day be having BS with one of the teachers...but you made that happen=) i met Abel at AMK Hub and we had dinner..haha.carmen was late..so we walked around for around an hour..then when she came..Abel bought a strudel and i met her at the station..then we took a bus down..when we reached the stop..we walked ONE ROUND..and came back to where we started..much like the Israelites..but anyway..haha..

yesterday..had a discussion with Bert on Apologetics..i brought Julius along..met at Pastamania at J8..the discussion was engaging..makes me wanna do GP again..but Christian Apologetics is much more profound than GP...
ok gonna go off to Sherman's house soon..X-Box fellowship..right..haha..heard he bought Fifa from his friend..YES!

church yesterday was a blast=)
ran with timo, sherman, stanley and raylia in NYJC! ran 2.4km..then led stanley on a 2.6km interval run..this dude's good=)

then went back to church to watch Facing the Giants..screened by Ben..really a good show=) alot of meaning to it..and can really cry if you get too engrossed..haha..Voice of truth by Casting Crowns rocks!

and i feel really guilty for not studying for tmr's paper..yes it's paper 1..but it can change your grade..big time..
i've been running for the past 5 days..ran from my place to yishun this morning..was supposed to go swimming with the dudes..but we cancelled it..i ran from grid 66 to grid 14! (street directory)..no joke..that's pactically half the breadth of Singapore..and it's not even worth a half-marathon?! gosh we are one SMALL nation..not that i'm complaining..at least i get to tell my overseas friends: "hey dude, i ran across my country, can you?" yeah..but i'll probably get whacked..haha..but i think i've burned out from the runs..jk..dude..you PSed me again..haha..

A girl went to a party and she ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone.

She wasn’t afraid
because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away.

As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger.

When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it.

However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her.

She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God’s protection.

Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her.

When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely.

The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there.

Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep.

Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station.

She felt she could recognize the man,so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him.

She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed.

The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question.

Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her.

When the policeman asked him, he answered, “Because she wasn’t alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her.”

Amazingly, whether you believe or not,you’re never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God?

having mixed feelings about today's physics..the questions were ok in general..loved the laser and semiconductor and nuclear questions..but the data response..KILL..=(
but I thank God for giving me the chance to help out at BB last Sat...plus the officers' outing to the showrooms...haha..benson and i were goofing around taking photos in the cars..it was fun..but i felt rather guilty spending so much time outside..
and i dragged benson to go for a haircut with me..sporting dude=)

the examination has been good so far..in spite of periods of immense stress..it's been a blessing to have great encouragement from friends..our daily messages to one another with Bible verses..our morning prayers..and also God to bring us through our occasional wildernesses..to God be the glory

i came to school thinking i was late..didn't see any of my classmates in the atrium..nor did i see any of them on the parade square..

so i literally stood in front with some dude from 0620 (the next class) who was also alone..think both of us looked super sian..then i kept going back to complain to miss shahida..then found out from Daphne that school was supposed to start at 930am..but there's flag raising anyway...

then PC messaged me to ask if i was in school...apparently he, together with jeremy and yong huan came early to school..but decided not to go for morning assembly because of their "large" number..so they slacked in 4-61..oh 4-61...

I thank God for giving me this opportunity to serve along side you guys..Lester, Hao Feng, Sihui, Meiping, Samuel, Priscilla, Gloria,Serene, Mr Lincoln Mao and even Kai Wen and Shem who broke away from us, and especially to Zhong Yu who started this cell 2 generations back..and the fire kept on burning with the help of Jeremy, Choy, Wan Ling, Sheryl and all the other seniors..God bless them all..the NY fellowship will continue on for generations of NYJCians to come..it's by the grace of God that we were placed in this school at the same time to serve alongside one another..my prayer for the emerging JC2 students is simply this: that the fellowship will not die out, and that there will be a place in NY where believers can come together to encurage and edify one another, be it an "official" cell group or otherwise..to God be the glory=)

I decided to run to Serene Centre from where I was from..cos I'm familiar with the route..then planned to grab a bite at macs and catch a bus home...
BUT...I was supposed to turn RIGHT at the juntion opposite Trinity Church..i turned left...
saw this ERP gantry and I'm like...oh no...then saw a sign: CHANGI AIRPORT!
wah wah legend woooo...ok so just kept running and walking along the expressway...and Singapore's an oven these few days...
I ended up on stevens road and then saw this flyover called...ah i forgot..saw some funny road named Onreat road..or smth like that..
then I saw old police academy..THANK GOD!

ok...I have a math mock paper tmr..gotta be in school at 830am..I have no idea why...I have no idea where..and I can't believe that we're getting back our pelim papers on a "maring day"...here's what I'm doing in the morning..
-running over to Jin Hao's place near Serangoon Garden's from my place (gotta reach there by 8am)
-I'm bringing along my ez-link, my bundle of 2 keys, a 5 dollar note and a pen...gotta borrooowwww stuff(calculator and geometric "tools") from my classmates..haha..beware
-then I've gotta go home quick...because my phone is not with me and I feel unimaginably insecure without it...
but I probably might spend that 5 bucks I brought along while hanging out with my class first...

I can't begin to describe how I'm feeling right now...been wrestling with a few issues during this period of time...
I've spoken to a few people..in fact alot...and certain revelations about myself particularly my character...
my personality is something I can't change..but being high most of the time does not give me an excuse to rave and rant uneccessarily..this is a fact about myself that I've come to accept..painfully..
I just randomly visited Pastor Fuman's blog just now..and this is what he said..
"Many Christians are echoing politically correct Biblical statements but somehow fail to follow through practically correct Biblical actions."
the reality just struck me..my character(not personality) has affected my ministry in school...how non-believers view me...is not relective of His glory...
"And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18
I've commited myself to change the way I behave in school..even in Church..and be wise in my actions and words...it's a necessary step...do pray for me and keep me accountable in this...
